Canada Bound…Eh!
Jun 30th 2010, 12:42pm
Hey all,
Well I’ve decided to follow up the quietest time of the year with an extended trip back to Canada to visit friends, family, chicken wings, Miss vicky’s chips and of course Big Rock. I’ll be gone from the 5th of July and I’ll be returning on the 18th of August.
If you happen to be in the Calgary area, look me up….

Kye Cole band adds new member…
Mar 9th 2010, 11:13am

Chris (Wolfy) Weigt, Andrew Hill, Kye Cole
The Kye Cole Band would like to officially welcome it’s latest member, Drummer- Andrew Hill. Sadly the longest standing member of the Kye Cole Band, Michael Green, resigned and has taken up a new full time job working with a Movie/TV production company as a celebrity driver. “it was sad to see Mickis leave, he put up with a lot of crap over the 5 plus years he worked with me and held us together through the best and the worst possible gigs. We had some great times together. It was great working with him, he’s a great drummer and I’m gonna miss him.” says Kye. Andrew has been madly working to get up to speed with the band and brings great experience as a Jazz drummer and instructor. He also gets the crown as the youngest member of the Kye Cole band. “Andrew has been a great addition to the band. Not only is he a great drummer, but he has a great attitude and is really excited to be playing live. It’s added a whole new freshness to the group.” says Kye.
Keep an eye on the gig guide and come check out Andrew in action.

Darwin…how rock’n roll are we….
Jul 26th 2009, 11:39pm
Hey All,
Well we’ve finally got ourselves settled in Darwin. It’s been very busy, learning new venues, learning new PA systems, and leaning new crowds. We just got back from playing on Groote Island. We finished our Friday night gig at 3am and we were on the plane at 5am. Had an afternoon nap and then on stage again. We shared the bill with a “smokin” Drag show (thanks to Sherri, Mons, and Sianne) playing to 200 women at a ladies night. What a blast, but now we need sleep…..check the gig guide if you happen to be in Darwin come check us out at one of the venues…..
See you there….
Darwin or Bust…Kye Cole Band is touring Darwin
Jul 7th 2009, 3:29pm
As of the 9th of July the Kye Cole Band will be spending about 7 weeks touring Darwin and surrounding area. It’s an exciting time for the band. With the recent addition of their new bass player, a raft of new songs, and an even more energy packed and polished show they’re ready to strut their stuff. “Getting the chance to play so many shows in such a short time is gonna be good for us. We’re a good band now, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned with full time gigging, you can just keep getting better and better. The possibilities are limitless and that’s one of the main things I’m looking forward to.” says Kye.
If you happen to be in Darwin keep an eye (and ear) out for the Kye Cole Band playing at some of these local venues:
The Lost Arc, Kittys, The Beachfront and The Vic.
see ya at the gigs…
Kye Cole Band gets new Bass Player!
Jun 23rd 2009, 2:14pm
As of Early May Chris Weigt became the newest member of the Kye Cole Band joining the long standing prowess of drummer Michael “Micus” Green in the rhythm section. Chris is taking over the bass duties from Daniel Vistar.
“Lieutenant Dan” as he was affectionately known has put his full heart and soul into his own original project “Bic Benedict”. Check’em on myspace.com/bicbenedict.
Chris steps up having been a very seasoned player both in the studio and live. Having played with the likes of “Lifeless Alarm”, “Kate Bradley” and most recently the cover band “The Method”. Chris has done a great job and has learned over 60 songs in less than a month. “It’s been one of the smoothest transitions We’ve had so far. I’ve gone through Bass players like spinal tap goes through drummers” says Kye with a laugh, “I reckon we finally got a keeper with Chris, Welcome aboard!”
